When the rubber mold is vulcanized, the rubber material will flow out of the parting surface of the mold, forming an overflow rubber edge, also known as raw edge or flash edge, the amount and thickness of the rubber edge are determined by the structure of the mold, the precision, the parallelism of the plate vulcanization machine and the amount of glue remaining. Now the products produced by the endless mold, the rubber edge is particularly thin, and sometimes it is taken off when the mold is started or can be removed with a gentle wipe. However, this kind of mold is expensive and easy to damage, and most rubber mold products need to be trimmed after vulcanization.

1. Finish by hand

Manual trimming is an ancient trimming method, which includes cutting rubber edges with a punch; Remove glue edges with scissors, scraping knives, etc. The quality and speed of rubber products manually trimmed will also vary from person to person, requiring dressing

The geometry of the finished product must conform to the requirements of the product drawing, and there must be no scratching, scratching and deformation. Before dressing, it is necessary to clear the dressing parts and technical requirements, master the correct dressing method and the correct use of tools.

2. Mechanical repair

Mechanical dressing refers to the use of a variety of special machines and corresponding process methods for rubber mold products to trim the edge&5 process. It is the most advanced dressing method at present.

(1) Mechanical cutting and trimming with the help of pressure machinery and punching die, punching knife, remove the rubber edge of the product. This method is applicable to the product and its rubber edge can be placed on the die or punching knife bottom plate of the model product, such as bottle stopper, cup, etc. For products with high rubber content and small hardness, the impact method is generally used to impact the edge, which can reduce the inconsistency and side depression caused by the larger elasticity of the product. For the products with low rubber content and high hardness, the method of knife die can be used directly. In addition, blanking is divided into cold cutting and hot cutting, cold cutting refers to blanking at room temperature, requiring higher blanking pressure and better blanking quality; Eagerness refers to the high temperature -f, punching should prevent high temperature contact products for too long, affecting product quality.

(2) Mechanical cutting trimming is suitable for trimming products with larger dimensions, using cutting tools. One side cutting machinery are special machines, different products use different cutting tools. For example, there are rubber strips of varying lengths at the air holes and exhaust lines on the surface of the tire after vulcanization, and the rubber strips must be cut by using a grooved tool under the condition of tire rotation.

(3) Mechanical grinding edge trimming For mold Marine airbags with internal holes and external circles, usually use grinding squares. The grinding tool is a grinding wheel with a certain thickness of particles, the precision of grinding and trimming is low, and the grinding surface is rough, which may contain residual sand, affecting the use effect.
